The Total Sona Promise
The inspiration for Total Sona Fitness was rooted in the psychological benefits of exercise. Sona, which is Gaelic for prosperity and happiness, embodied the ethos of our mission. In our fast-paced and high-stress world, we wanted to create a convenient and accessible way to workout to help reduce stress and to improve the overall health of our community.
Equally important to us, was developing a program that could fit every schedule and every budget. Whether you have all the free time in the world or every minute is jam packed, we have a program that will fit right into your daily routine. The ultimate goal behind everything that we do at Total Sona Fitness is to use health and exercise to bring prosperity and happiness to our clients.
Our Training Philosophy
In addition to the well-known cardiorespiratory benefits of working out, extensive research shows that adequate exercise can help improve mental health and neurocognitive functionality. This is where our inspiration is derived from. Our mission is to develop and implement customized health and exercise programs for our clients to help them achieve Total Sona.
Wanting to "get in shape" is great but we strive to bring you much more. Total Sona will collaborate with you to develop a specific and systematic program that is focused around reaching YOUR health and fitness goals while always maintaining a focus on functional training (balance, mobility, endurance, and strength).
We believe convenience plays a large role in accomplishing your health and fitness goals. Bringing the workout to you eliminates the excuse of skipping the gym. This combination of convenience and personalized support helps us to create an environment of accountability for our clients.
Meet The Team
Co-Founder / Business Operations
For many years, Dylan's fitness journey was focused on sports specific training. As a college football player, working out revolved around lifting heavy weights, running sprints, and practices. When he wasn't busy with football, Dylan also worked at an athletic training facility as a performance coach.
After college, he went into the corporate world, working in Professional Sports and Entertainment for 4 years. It was during this time period when exercise became more than just lifting and sprinting, it became a necessity; an outlet from the stress of work. He became inspired to use this tool to help other people.
With his wife Kenna, who was already a successful fitness professional, they decided to start a company with a simple mission; to use health and exercise to bring prosperity and happiness to their community.
Dylan is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and oversees the Business Operations for Total Sona Fitness.
Co-Founder / Program Development
Kenna's passion for movement was sparked at a young age. As a toddler, she was signed up for a dance class and immediately fell in love with it. She knew that she wanted to grow up to become a professional dancer. As her love for dance continued to grow, so did her passion for using exercise to improve her abilities and overall health. While majoring in dance in college, she received her 200 Hour Yoga Certification through Yoga Alliance.
After she graduated, Kenna was hired as a professional dancer with a Chicago Jazz Company. She supplemented her dance career by working in the fitness industry. Kenna continues to dance and is also a Nike Trainer. She specializes in Personal Training, Group Fitness, and Yoga Classes.
Kenna considers herself very fortunate to be able to move and sweat for a living. She kept noticing how difficult and inconvenient it was for her husband, Dylan, to find time to exercise while working in the corporate world. That's when they decided to start a company with the vision of making exercise more convenient and accessible.
Along with her NASM Personal Trainer Certification, Kenna holds specialties in Nutrition, Performance Enhancement, and Senior Fitness. She oversees all aspects of training and program development for Total Sona Fitness.
